Challenge
Lumadessa started as a side project, a personal exploration of the design identities of birds and animals through a geometric illustration style. The press took notice and the audience grew beyond designers and creatives into a broader market. The challenge shifted from making the work to sustaining it, keeping the audience engaged, growing sales, and expanding the brand without diluting what made it worth following in the first place.
Approach
Lumadessa operates on a simple principle: make every piece iconic. Each animal went through extensive drafts, learning its form and distilling it down to its graphic essence. That craft established the visual language of the label and became the foundation everything else grew from. Each product, collaboration, and release extends that foundation into a different format or context without diluting what the label stands for.
Outcome
The work earned licensing partnerships with Element Skateboards, Lacoste, Junior Monarch, and Habitat, placing the artwork on products across global markets. Press coverage from Dwell, British Vanity Fair, Apartment Therapy, BuzzFeed, and others brought the label to a wider audience, expanding both the product line within Lumadessa and new products through licensing collaborations.
Role
Founder and Art Director. Visual design, brand identity, packaging, product design, e-commerce, licensing partnerships, artwork, motion graphics, and marketing assets for every product launch.

Flora Fauna Collection

The art series that started Lumadessa, built around the design identities of animals and plants. What began as a way to see animals through a designer's eye, abstracting them through geometric form to reveal their essential character, became the visual foundation the entire label grew from. The original series launched as limited edition fine art giclee prints in a 5"×7" format designed to be collected individually or arranged as a grid.

Lumadessa Moon Phase Calendar

This 2026 calendar is a 24"×36" art print tracking the year's lunar phases alongside 105 milestones from humanity's journey to the Moon, from the Wright Brothers to Armstrong, spanning 200 years of flight and space exploration. The visual design draws from the NASA space program and the functional elegance of mid-century chronographers, specifically the Omega Speedmaster, the first watch worn on the Moon. It functions as wall art that rewards both distance viewing and close reading, and is available in three colorways: Space Black, Lunar Gray, and Stellar White.
